S14 IMPLANTS, manufacturer of innovative medical devices for spinal surgery, has launched at the beginning of May its fundraising campaign on the Happy Capital’s crowdfunding plateform.
Since 2005, Frederic Fortin, CEO of S14 IMPLANTS, and his team are working on a range of implants relieving the intervertebral disc and facet joints, thanks to an innovative damping system. This “damping” or shock absorption technology works like a damper of a car, it stabilizes and controls the spine motion. Thus it allows to treat back pain preserving the mobility of the operated level. Clinical studies, started in 2013 in partnership with the CHU of Bordeaux, French leader in France for back surgery, show convincing results.
Therefore, S14 IMPLANTS intends now to impose its damping technology on the non-fusion market segment with the B-Dyn device. The distribution of B-Dyn started in 2009 and has allowed to treat more than 2,000 patients worldwide. A patient says: “I suffered from back pain for two years, following two low back pain, who conducted me one day in the ditch with my car […] Today, I feel good, I’ve resumed swimming, I plan to resume skiing in February, running in a few times and maybe play some recreation handball matches. ”
To solve the largest number of patients with chronic pain, S14 IMPLANTS decides now to open its capital and welcome investors. As a consequence, this fundraising campaign will significantly expand the development of its implants and treat people optimizing stability and spinal motion control. This fundraising will allow an increase in production capacity, reduce manufacturing times and meet the regulatory requirements of the target countries.
