ST. LOUIS –– Ulrich Medical USA says a Texas -based hospital owes thousands of dollars for medical devices. The Missouri-based spinal implant manufacturer filed a lawsuit on July 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, alleging St. Camillus Hospital purchased more than $164,000 worth of devices during 2017 and 2018. But the hospital still owes more than $132,000, the complaint states.
The hospital — locaed in Hurst, Texas — performed at least 18 surgeries using the implants, Ulrich Medical claims. After each surgery, an invoice is sent out, however “there remains a number of outstanding invoices for Ulrich’s implants for which, despite repeated requests for payments, St. Camillus has refused to pay.,” the complaint states.Ulrich Medical USA sells spinal implant systems throughout the United States and the world. The hospital allegedly bought four types of spinal implants for patients. The spinal implant company also has to pay commissions for delivering the implants to the hospital. Ulrich seeks the amount due along with “interest at the highest legal rate.”Ulrich Medical is represented by Douglas S. Teasdale of Teasdale & Associates in St. Louis.
